Black and White River
The river is a source of infinite wonder. To sit by the water is to watch time fade as the enchanting sound of the current guides the mind into a state of deep meditation. This series mirrors that natural flow. When I stand before a blank canvas, I do not direct the brush; instead, I yield to it. Just as the river crafts its own path, the brush glides to create a dialogue of patterns, and I become a passenger on the journey.
This duality of flow defines the work. Looking upstream, I see the future rushing toward me. Looking downstream, I see the past flowing away. Yet in the present, they are one. To capture this, these canvases are rotated continuously during their creation. This results in a composition that flows in both directions creating an infinite loop of perception.
Born during a period of isolation in the Colombian wilderness during the 2020 quarantine, BLACK AND WHITE RIVER was the genesis of the "Dots and Lines World." In a time of global uncertainty, my dots and lines language emerged as a beacon of mental resilience. It serves as a reminder of our enduring unity, proving that the dot of the individual is always part of a larger, infinite connection.
